A commoner turned diva, Dorothea's skill as a songstress can charm most anyone with a proper ear and taste for music. She's spent the last few years fighting as a general in a war (much to her chagrin) and is eager to think of the future — which includes finding a husband wife long-term plan for her financial security. But with so much time on her hands in a place like this, she's eager to make new acquaintances and allies who can share in some relaxation with her. She's open to new experiences as she's eager to please!
Chips and cards are the name of the game, and Dorothea is eager to learn. She'd like to be in a secure place to ensure her own safety and stability and she has some important people she'd like to keep safe. Which means she is plenty eager to please and open to learning if it means getting her needs met!
Dorothea's voice isn't the only sweet point about her: she's beautiful, charming, and witty. She's a conversationalist, eager to learn about you so she can make you comfortable. Excellent at acting, dancing, and all things music, she would make a perfect companion for someone artistic or musically inclined. She's a quick study, open and eager to learn and please, and she's lovely with pillow talk (if that's your thing). If you're the kind who enjoys simple and tender intimacies or someone who will dote on you, look no further!
Dorothea enjoys fruity and floral teas, books and plays on drama and romance, and likes flowers and gardening (so long as it's not too messy)! She would enjoy movies once someone introduces her. Any food is her preference...except for anything involving fish.
Dorothea will tell you she is quite fine with an interesting but kind partner who is decent to her — but we can do better than that! She would much prefer a partner who enjoys the arts, music, or theater. While she can appreciate someone with a strong or powerful physique, she is equally attracted to softer people. What's most important is that her partner is not cruel to her and someone who respects her boundaries.

[ For a moment, he's a bit more solemn. War is always an ugly thing. ]
Perhaps this can be a bit of a vacation for you? [ A beat, and his interest seems to rise. ] What work did you do in the opera company? You don't sing, perchance?

It’s funny you should say that. A friend of mine from home said the same thing: that there’s really no use getting worked up and, besides, it’s better than a war. I can’t say he isn’t wrong, even if it’s troublesome.
[ Some vacation, right? But her eyes light up when he mentions singing, and even when she’s in the middle of another sip of her drink, she’s nodding. ]
I do. Sing, dance, perform… I can play a little bit of piano but not to the point of being exceedingly good.
[ Enough to read some sheet music and play the notes decently, but she’s no orchestra performer. ]

[ Shanks smiles wider as she speaks. He is enjoying the musicians of late. He can't sing, not even slightly. Don't ask him to, but he does enjoy listening to it. ]
Might you perform here? Of course, only if you feel like it.

[ It's the people, really, though she enjoyed the gala. The mystique of anonymity, the fun in seeking out new experiences. The resort may make her wary but there's enough to do and plenty of people to get to know. And so she's aware of the music room but not any kind of stage per se.
Her gaze lights up a little. ]
I didn't realize we'd be allowed to. Do you have to be a certain rank? [ Maybe she can earn some chips that way. ] I wouldn't mind. It's been a couple of years since I've done something formal like that, though I'm always open to more private performances.
[ And that's punctuated with a wink. ]
Do you think people would enjoy opera? I've gotten the impression that it might be too dull of a thing for people at the resort.

Honestly, I am not sure, either. You could do it anyway, and if anyone tries to stop you, I'll pull rank. [ He grins, pretty sure if one of the kings says they want to see a performance, the hotel staff will allow it. Might even help set up. ]
[ As for the opera, he remains grinning. ] I know of at least two individuals who will find appreciation in your vocals, as vocalists themselves.

[ It's better than how some of her friends have it, where they have to suffer in the lower quarters with barely a closet to sleep in. Regardless— ]
I'd like to meet your musically inclined friends, if it's all the same to you. But I'd also be happy to put on a performance anytime, whether it's on a stage or not. I have to keep up my form just in case I'm lucky enough to suddenly go home.
[ She settles her cheek in her hand, taking him in with newfound appreciation now. ]
What got you into music or stage performances? I didn't think that something popular for pirates.
no subject
[ He laughs to Dorothea's question. ]
Pirates love music. We sing, we dance. It's one way to have fun. There's even a popular song amongst us that most of us know and learn on the sea. [ Just don't ask Shanks to sing it.... Maybe Uta. ]
so sorry for the wait, I lost this!
[ Dorothea hasn't had the pleasure yet to meet with her, which is quite a shame. She sounds quite lovely. And the more singers, the better, frankly! No one can go wrong with that. ]
Are you certain you wouldn't want to be on stage? I imagine a carousing song would get quite a few people's spirits up in a place like this.
no worries, my slow time of year, anyway
It's best I leave the stage to the stars. [ That's the most diplomatic way he can think of saying he's not a good singer. But he can dance in the audience! ]
