Born in the Imperial capital of Enbarr, Dorothea was the daughter of a maid and a nobleman. When she didn't produce a Crest, the nobleman cast her and her mother out of the house to be penniless on the streets. When her mother took ill and died some time later, Dorothea was left alone to survive the streets of the capital. At the age of 10, she was heard singing by the premier diva of the Mittelfrank Opera Company, who was so enamored with her voice that she recruited Dorothea to the opera. In her eight years there, she properly honed her voice and her acting skills, eventually becoming a diva herself. But for all of the glitz and glamour of such a life, being so adored and famous had its cost: Dorothea still had to learn to defend herself from people who would try to harm her or worse. And for every suitor's proposal she received, she had to contend with the knowledge that the same people who spat on and kicked her as an orphaned child were the same who would offer her riches and pretty gifts now that she had blossomed into a star.
When her idol (Manuela, who found her on the streets) departed the company in search of broadening her own skills, Dorothea decided to join her. Using her connections and charm, she secured the financial backing to go to the Officer's Academy; she studied hard and passed the exams on her own merit. If nothing else, the Academy would help her broaden her skills and see her finding deeper connections; it didn't hurt that the Academy was attended by mostly nobles, and she could still try her luck at finding a suitable husband (or wife) to take care of her in her old age. After all, her looks and voice wouldn't stick around forever. However, within the year, her House's leader - Edelgard von Hresvelg - declared war on the Church of Seiros. Dorothea followed her and their Professor into conflict, eventually becoming one of Edelgard's generals throughout the five year war.
Dorothea is a survivalist, through and through. Though she carries a compassionate heart and a love for the arts, she is well aware of the darkness that exists among the noble class and in the forgotten reaches of the commoner and impoverished corners. A bit too tenderhearted for war itself, Dorothea is headstrong and cares deeply for the people around her, and isn't afraid to pick fights well above her level. Carrying a grudge against those in power and among the nobility (particularly those who are selfish or cruel), she can be vindictive and cutting. Through it all, though, she carries deep insecurities about herself and what she has had to do to stay alive. Well aware her efforts to find a husband or wife entail ingratiating herself and acting like a gold-digger, she hates herself more than anyone else, and vacillates between the mask of confident self-assurance she wears and the melancholy self-loathing that rests in her heart.

• Mutual aphrodisiac. Two (or more) people wanting to spice things up consensually.
• Mutual trouble. The Golden Peacock has some places that are...adventurous and weird. If someone was willing to go explore, she'd be willing to go too. Gotta investigate and check things out, after all! So if you are wanting an excuse to check out the harder things, we can do that.
• Risky things in public. Dining out and touching under the table, out-competing each other to see who will crack first and demand to go into a back room/closet/head home early.
• Threesomes are always on the table in any capacity.
• Kink exploration/corruption. Dorothea has some experience but not in more modern (or more extreme) kinks, like modern day toy use, ropes/shibari, bondage* (light or otherwise) or things like that.
